The biggest thing I love about my job is the wide variety of people and employers we get to meet. Tomasz is speaking.

Every day is a little bit different. There’s days where we’re out on the road all day between different employers and there’s day where I’m at home writing reports to reflect what happened on those days.

You are the face of WSIB. We are the role that does primarily our meetings in person.

The challenges primarily revolve around new situations that we maybe haven’t dealt with before – coming to job sites, having never seen that job. I’ll try to run through my list of things I need to look at.

Tomaz walks through parking lot with safety boots on and laptop bag.

He stops and opens his laptop.

Essential skills in this role are observational skills. We need to be able to observe the injured person doing their job.

Negotiation skills are very critical as well. We are constantly negotiating return to work with both employers and injured people.

But the WSIB’s values guide my work every day – specifically around collaboration. Working with the Nurse consultants [and] Case Managers helps with a big team-based approach to solving challenging situations.
