Accessibility on our website

We're committed to accessibility and are continuously improving our website. We've made additional enhancements to:

  • comply with international standards and guidelines of the Worldwide Web Consortium (W3C), an organization that develops protocols to ensure the long-term growth of the Web following guidelines set out by WCAG 2.0
  • be accessible by our visitors who use screen-reading devices such as JAWS
  • ensure links have a large enough target to be clicked successfully, making it easier for visitors with degenerative dexterity to navigate the website.
  • use keyboard only navigation, ensuring a logical tab order and a clear ‘on focus’ visual cue
  • create our content to be compatible with IE11 upwards, Firefox, Safari and Chrome (please note our section on Adjusting your Browser Settings, below)
  • provide images with an alternative text

We also created pages that allow visitors with vision disabilities to navigate the website effectively with a screen reading aid. For example, all images have text describing the image. Title attributes tell users where a link will take them if they click on it, and structured headings allow users to get an overview of the site and jump quickly to desired sections.

Adjusting your browser settings

Our web pages can be adapted to your preferences. You can change some of the options in your computer settings, and, using Microsoft Edge, you will be able to:

  • change the colour of most text (but not images)
  • change the background colour (black text on a white background gives the most contrast)
  • change the line length by changing the size and shape of your browser window
  • override the colour schemes of this website with your preferred settings
  • have the web page read to you
  • increase the size of the contents of a web page by zooming in

Please refer to the accessibility topic in the help section of your browser for details on how to change your browser settings.

Most modern browsers have tools to help you with accessibility, such as setting font sizes, colours and image loading preferences.
