We’re here to help you arrange travel for appointments related to your claim.
Make sure you have approval to travel before you request a booking.
Your case manager, nurse, or return-to-work specialist can let you know if they’ve authorized travel benefits for you.
Travelling by taxi:
Once your appointment dates are known, contact Rapid City Transportation to book your individual trips, including pick-up and drop-off times.
Please book at least 24 hours in advance, whenever possible
Tell Rapid City Transportation:
- if your plans change, or you need to cancel or report any delays or issues
- your WSIB claim number, full name and phone number
Keep in mind:
- We pay for all authorized trips, including tips. You don’t need to pay out of pocket.
- Depending on your appointment location, Rapid City Transportation may arrange for a different taxi company to pick you up.

Online: visit the Rapid City Transport website and click “Book a Trip (pre-approved)” to reserve your pick-up time. You can also book by logging in to our online services.

When calling:
- press 1 to speak to customer service and book your trip
- press 8 when you are ready for pick-up after your appointment.
Travelling by air, hotel or rail
Our travel provider, Direct Travel, will call you to arrange your booking.
After they confirm your booking, they will email you a copy of your itinerary.
If you need to make changes to your booking, contact Direct Travel.
For hotel stays, keep in mind that we cover your hotel costs, however, you’ll need to provide a credit card at check-in for the security deposit. If this is an issue for you, please let your Direct Travel agent know.

Travelling by intercity bus
Please buy your bus ticket. We’ll reimburse you for reasonable travel costs.
To get reimbursed, fill out the Worker’s travel expense form and submit it to us.
