Working for good

Land acknowledgement

We acknowledge the lands we operate on across Ontario are traditional and treaty territories of Indigenous Peoples.

We acknowledge this land is still home to many First Nations, Inuit, and Metis Peoples and we recognize the history, spirituality, culture and stewardship of the land by Indigenous Peoples.

Message from our CEO

Values

Our values reflect our people, our organization and our mission – they are integrated into everything we do.

Accountability

We take ownership and responsibility for our work. We ask questions to help us understand what we need to accomplish, while seeking, providing and acting on feedback so we can continue to do better.

Collaboration

We are open, honest and helpful in all our interactions. We recognize that our success depends on people with different viewpoints working together for a common goal.

Empathy

We listen actively so that we can understand people's feelings and put ourselves in their shoes. We respect the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of the people we serve and interact with.

Integrity

We do what we say we are going to do. We always strive to make the best decisions, follow through on our commitments and tell the truth. When we get it wrong, we admit it.

WSIB governance

The WSIB operates under a strong governance framework designed to ensure accountability, transparency and effective decision-making. At the core of this structure is the Board of Directors, which provides strategic oversight and guidance to meet provincial regulations and public expectations.

In 2025, the Board of Directors completed an annual review of the Board and Committee Charters. This annual review ensures the charters are functioning as intended, reflect best practices, and capture the activities carried out by the Board and delegated to the Committees.

The Board of Directors also began implementing the action plan resulting from the previous year’s education session on board effectiveness. This included an increased focus on risk oversight and strengthening the relationships between board members and management.
