Most workers’ compensation boards and commissions in Canada use the National Work Injuries Statistics Program standard to code the injury details of a claim. This standard is based on the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z795-96 codes which gives a more detailed coding of injury details. We use this standard and code all lost-time claims using four categories: nature of injury, event, source, and part of body.
