Health care benefit payments

Health care payments are made to or on behalf of people with claims, and in 2020 represented 20 per cent of total payments. 

Our expanded province-wide network of experts, specialized medical assessments and treatment services gives injured and ill people quick access to high quality providers. When needed, this includes access to specialized hospital-based clinics that treat more complex injuries and occupational illnesses. The narcotics strategy includes increased oversight of how narcotics are helping support treatment goals, including quality of function, quality of life, and safe and continuous return to work. 

Between 2019 and 2020 there was a decrease health care benefit billings, drug benefit billings and physician services via MOH&LTC.
