Certification for Joint Health and Safety Committee Members
Most workplaces with 20 or more workers must have at least one worker and one management person to be certified members of a workplace Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC). It’s the law under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
The Chief Prevention Officer of the Ministry of Labour certifies members once they complete Parts One and Two of Joint Health and Safety Committee Certification training.
If you have questions or need to update your contact information on the Ministry of Labour Certification Database, email preventionfeedback@ontario.ca or call 1-877-202-0008.
Please contact the Ministry of Labour (MOL) to find out if your workplace must meet this requirement.
